NewsHawk Media was so close to the action we almost became part of the act while shooting juggler-comedian Alex “Zaniac” Zerbe. Alex capped off Day One of the Oregon Dairy Farmers Association Convention in Salem. It was NewsHawk’s second consecutive year covering the convention and capturing the issues and storylines of high interest to the state’s dairy industry producers. The association meets in Salem annually for the two-day conference. For many attendees, it is the only time during the year they set aside to be away from their farm. It’s a seven-day workweek and the chores never cease. Zerbe, who is based in Seattle, has manic energy and a sense of the absurd. At one point he juggled a bowling bowl, machete and an egg, and he successfully sliced a stalk of celery with a playing card — from 30 paces. While doing so he cajoled a handful of conventioneers to assist him onstage. Hilarity ensued.
